2 minutes away from the beach
The parks of Camping Duinoord are located at a perfect spot, at the edge of the dunes of Westenschouwen. From Duinoord aan Zee it takes about 10 minute by foot to the beach and the biggest forest (more than 300 hectares) of Zeeland. The beach is one of the few so-called southern beaches of the Netherlands. You could walk several kilometres on the beach and return through the wide dunes and the forest. The forest offers different hiking tours, riding-tracks and a mountain bike trail. During the season various excursions are being organised.
Schouwen-Duiveland is the northernmost peninsula of Zeeland and is being surrounded by the North Sea, lake Grevelingenmeer and the Easthern Scheldt. Swimming, sailing, diving, sun bathing, walking along the beach, cycling and making use of the bike ferry or horse riding through the dunes are all among the possibilities. Schouwen-Duiveland is the place to be for an active holiday in nature or on water.
The peninsula consist of a beautiful polder landscape which is dotted with pretty villages, wide dunes, dikes where bird watching is possible, forests and swamps insides of the dikes. The latter are formed after the floods of 1953.
